This Past Saturday At The Red Moose Lodge

Hi All

Just another quick report. All that made it out on the river , I hope you did well fishing..Traffic wasn't to bad on Saturday it was busier  Friday on the river. Today being Easter was the least amount of trucks and trailers I've seen here in a while at M-37 access. We had our No Vacancy sign on so it was a good weekend for us here and we appreciate everyone who came up. I had Joe and his Grandpa Doc on Saturday. Doc boated this nice 17" Brown Trout to break the ice , and Joe fought 2 Steelhead and landed the one hen and lost a nice buck on the side of the boat. Doc caught a few other smaller Trout throughout the day. We went mid river and fished from the boat most the day. The water is up in the fly water but not over it's banks in my back yard yet. The gage in Scottville says the river is blown out down there. We had a little rain last night but it never went below freezing so the swamps are starting to thaw. It is getting cold the next day or two so it should slow all the extra water down some. Still a bunch of snow to melt maybe 25% left. Fresh Fish should be showing up this week. Still have tomorrow and Tuesday open if interested in a trip. It will be a good days to be fishing out of a boat. Wading will be tricky the next few days as will boating.. Be careful on the river.
